Three calculators and a readiness check

Four simple, client-side tools — nothing you enter here is saved or sent anywhere.

Campaign goal planner

Enter your estimated need, network size and typical gift amount to see a realistic goal and how long it might take to reach.

Assumptions this uses
  • Assumes a modest response rate — not every person in your network will actually give
  • Does not include platform or processing fees; use the fee comparison tool alongside this one
  • Treats the close network as more likely to give than the wider network, at a higher assumed response rate

Limitations: This is a planning estimate based on typical response patterns, not a prediction — actual results depend heavily on your specific story, timing and outreach effort.

Quick tip

Read the fee structure before you pick a platform, not after

Every major crowdfunding platform publishes its fee structure, typically a platform fee plus a separate payment processing fee. Search '[platform name] fees' directly on the platform's own site rather than relying on what a friend told you last year — fee structures change, and the number that matters is what actually lands in the account, not the headline amount raised.

Platform fee comparison

Enter your expected total raised and each platform's fee structure to see which one leaves you with more after fees.

Assumptions this uses
  • Uses the fee percentages and flat fees you enter, pulled from each platform's own current fee page
  • Assumes an average donation size to estimate how many transactions the flat fee applies to
  • Does not include any optional donor tip some platforms use instead of a mandatory fee

Limitations: Does not account for currency conversion fees on international donations or promotional fee waivers a platform may offer for a limited time — confirm current terms directly.

Recurring giving projection

Enter a monthly recurring gift amount and a number of donors to project the annual total a recurring giving program could realistically raise.

Assumptions this uses
  • Projects a simple annual total from monthly gift amount times number of donors times twelve months
  • Does not account for donor attrition — some recurring donors will cancel before a full year
  • Does not subtract processing fees, which apply to each individual monthly charge, not just once

Limitations: This is a simple projection, not a guarantee — actual recurring giving totals depend on donor retention, which varies by cause and communication cadence.

Campaign readiness checklist

Work through the practical steps worth confirming before you launch, and see what's left.

Assumptions this uses
  • This is a planning checklist based on common practices, not a formal requirement of any platform
  • Not every item applies equally to every campaign type — personal, nonprofit and creative campaigns differ

Limitations: Completing this checklist does not predict or guarantee a campaign's outcome.
